Traveling to Colorado for Legal Psilocybin Services

You do not have to live in Colorado to participate in regulated psilocybin services.

Adults age 21 and older can travel to Colorado to work with a licensed natural medicine facilitator through Colorado’s regulated Natural Medicine Program. For people living in states where regulated psilocybin services are not available, traveling to Colorado creates a legal pathway under Colorado state law to participate in a supported psilocybin experience.

If you are considering traveling to Colorado, understanding the process before booking flights or lodging can make planning considerably easier.

Planning Your Psilocybin Experience in Colorado

The process begins before you arrive in Colorado.

You can begin by choosing a Colorado Licensed Natural Medicine Facilitator and completing the required screening and preparation process. Some preparation may be conducted remotely when permitted under Colorado regulations, which makes it possible to establish a relationship with your facilitator and begin preparing before your trip.

Your administration session takes place in Colorado at a location authorized under the regulated Natural Medicine Program. Your facilitator remains with you throughout the required administration period.

After the experience, you will need sufficient time to rest and transition before traveling. Integration can continue after you return home, including remotely when appropriate.

How Long Should I Plan to Stay in Colorado?

When time and resources allow, I recommend planning four days for your trip to Colorado.

Ideally, you arrive the day before your administration session. This gives you time to settle in, recover from travel, become familiar with your surroundings, and get a full night of rest before your experience.

Your administration session takes place the following day. You should plan to stay overnight after your session rather than traveling immediately afterward.

I also recommend giving yourself one full day after your psilocybin experience before beginning your trip home. This creates space to rest, eat, sleep, reflect, and begin integrating the experience without immediately moving into airports, long drives, schedules, and the demands of ordinary life.

A four-day trip might look like this:

Day 1: Arrive in Colorado and settle in.

Day 2: Psilocybin administration session and overnight stay.

Day 3: Rest, reflect, and begin integration.

Day 4: Travel home.

Not everyone has the time or resources to follow this schedule, and individual circumstances vary. Your travel plans can be discussed during preparation so that we can create a realistic plan around your administration session.

Should I Choose a Facilitator Before Planning My Trip?

Yes. Choosing your facilitator first can make the rest of the process considerably easier.

Your facilitator can explain the regulated process, complete required screening and preparation with you, discuss whether participation is appropriate, and help coordinate the administration portion of your experience with a licensed healing center or other authorized location.

This also gives you an opportunity to determine whether you feel comfortable with the person who will remain with you throughout your psilocybin experience before committing to travel.

Facilitators differ in their experience, philosophy, approach, and way of working. A consultation before making travel arrangements gives you room to ask questions and determine whether the relationship feels like the right fit.

Traveling to Colorado to Work With Me

I work with both Colorado residents and people traveling from across the United States for regulated psilocybin services.

My approach is grounded in careful preparation, non-directive facilitation, participant autonomy, and attentive support throughout the experience. For clients traveling from out of state, we can begin the process before you arrive so that your trip to Colorado is one part of a larger preparation, administration, and integration process rather than an isolated experience.

If you are considering traveling to Colorado for psilocybin facilitation, a complimentary consultation is the best place to begin. We can talk about what you are seeking, how I work, the regulated process, and the practical considerations involved in traveling to Colorado.
